1970s Jaeger LeCoultre Memovox E871 TV Screen
$3,250
The Jaeger LeCoultre Memovax was the first wristwatch that featured automatic movement, alarm clock, and a date display. When the Memovax was originally released it was a symbol of planned efficiency, and quickly became the watch of choice for “men-about-town”.
The modern design Memovax E871 was unveiled at the 1970 Basle Fair. Its bold colors and TV screen design isn’t something you’re going to find in a modern watch. This watch was bold and beautiful in 1970, and it has only gotten better with age. The bright colors are a feature, not an accent. Its rounded design makes for a surprisingly comfortable wear.
This watch shows only minor signs of wear, the worst of it being some surface chips in the crystal. The case itself has very minor scratches and signs of wear, it doesn’t appear to have been worn as a daily watch and was most likely only worn on special occasions.
