Sue Vernick grew up in University Heights, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland. She graduated from Syracuse University in Special Education. After graduation, Sue moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to teach special needs children. It is here where she met her future husband. During the beginning years of their marriage, the Vernicks moved quite a bit. Sue has lived in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Albany, New York; Chicago, Illinois; Milford, Massachusetts; Sacramento, California and finally settled for 14 years in Carmel, Indiana, a suburb of Indianapolis. It was while living in Indiana that Sue found her desire to become involved in the jewelry industry, but with children at home, she took courses long distance to earn various credentials in the jewelry industry. With children at home, she took courses long distance to earn various credentials in the jewelry industry. She spent over 6 years at a wonderful, family-owned store. As the children were becoming adults and living on their own, Sue and her husband decided to move to the Baltimore area to be closer to her sister and family. She has been with Nelson Coleman Jewelers since September of 2006 and it is here that she has truly found a wonderful home in this fun and special industry where the Colemans have built a solid, caring and totally customer focused business.
