In ancient cultures gemstones such as sapphire, ruby and emerald were worn by the wealthiest in society and signified power, prestige and privelage. The common population was forbidden to own them.

Gemstones

There are 2000 identified minerals, and of that group only 100 are considered to be of gemstone quality. At Nelson Coleman we hand select precious gemstones for our jewelry such as emerald, aquamarine, alexandrite, sapphire, ruby, diamond, moonstone, garnet, jade, opal, quartz, spinel, topaz, tourmaline, turquoise and zircon. We also carry a selection of loose gemstones.
